About the LiveIPs Radio Project
Hello everybody, this is Angad Nadkarni, the creator, owner, and administrator, of the LiveIPs project.
LiveIPs radio stations service began in 2009, but its origins can be traced to a lazy afternoon in 2008, when I sat down and coded a simple script that embedded stuff that I put into the database into my website. Though I gave up trying to have that as a primary jukebox, and bought a ShoutCAST radio hosting account, the basic idea of recreating a real-time radio station using PHP, with no special hosting required, and primarily using YouTUBE to host video and audio content was born.
With some coding revolving around interaction with YouTUBE videos using Google's APIs and JavaScript, and a login panel, LiveIPs born. I decided to slowly start building the free broadcasting website on the lines of social networking with Real-Time/Live/On-Air/ radio as the basis, where one could just listen to his mate's tunes, and invite others to listen to his own radio station.
Though the free radio station website is new, it is a really neat idea that could save people hard cash. ShoutCAST radio broadcasting isn't a very easy thing to setup either. Besides, why buy special hosting, when all you have to do is register to get your own radio channel, and use YouTube to throw in some free content?
What's Real-Time?
Real time is the most important feature of LiveIPs. Anybody can embed vidoes, right? Well, LiveIPs plays the about same millisecond of the video for everybody regardless of when they tune in. Tune in to a radio channel to know more. What we're talking about here, is something revolutionary. Recreating live radio with a simple mixture of PHP, JavaScript, and YouTUBE.

How stuff works
You may raise an eyebrow when you hear that YouTube is what LiveIPs uses. So, are these broadcasts just like watching YouTube? Nope. They're like listening to LIVE radio. Check out our channels.
Get started with your own radio station
That's easier than you think. Just hit the registration button below, or above! A registration shouldn't take more than 5 seconds of your time. Verify your email, login, broadcast something, and see your free radio station channel listed as live in 'Channels'.
